Options Trading Strategies and Training

Options trading Strategies for successful trading is all about learning the art of making profits using Option Strategies in all market conditions whether rising or falling. The Training session made the students to understand all the important concepts in the Options Analysis, PCR Charts, Option Pain Charts, The students understood the basics of option trading and apply the same in derivative markets. This practical session was delivered by Dr. Anilkumar G. Garag, Director at Bapuji Business School, Davanagere, on        23rd February 2016.

Data Analysis using Microsoft Excel 2010

Three days training on ‘Data Analysis using Microsoft Excel-2010’ was organized. The resource person was       Mr. Ravi Kumar from, a Microsoft Certified Professional and Microsoft Office Specialist-Excel Expert. Students found the practical and hands on learning experience of Excel using cases and templates very helpful.

Talk on Social Entrepreneurship

Prof. Archana Singh, an Assistant Professor at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, discussed on the concept of social entrepreneurship and how students of TISS have explored and started their own profitable social ventures to set up effective business models. Some of the social business ventures, which are bringing about change in lives of thousands that were discussed, viz. Sampurna Earth, a venture in waste management, Krishi Naturals, which works relentlessly to educate farmers, procure and process farm produce and Thread Craft India started with an effort to save a dying art ‘Chikankari’ of Rajasthan and creating a socially relevant business. The session was organized on 27th February 2016.

Workshop on Understanding FX Markets

‘Understanding FX Markets’ a one day workshop was organized to provide a ringside view of the world of Forex trade to  the students on 15th February 2016, with practical insights into the structure and mechanisms of the equity and FX markets. A unique feature of the workshop was that it was designed to give participants, the opportunity to trade and manage the risk of equity and FX .The resource person for the workshop was Prof. Shridhar Potdar.  AGM ( Retd.) Bank of India and faculty at Symbiosis Institute of Banking & Finance, Pune. He covered the basics of the Forex market and role of banks in Forex operations and trading. The session has helped students in understanding FX markets in a practical way.

Art of Selling

To sharpen the skills and give students an edge in the job market, a workshop imparting the selling skills called ‘Art of Selling’ was organized. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. S. Ramu, a senior management consultant from Sangatikarna Corporate services, Mumbai, with vast experience of training the industry personnel on selling skills, spanning more than 2.5 decades. He discussed about ‘SPIN SELLING’ to uncover the implied needs of a customer, SPIN is-Situation, Problem, Implication, Need Payoff. The workshop was successful in imparting the selling skills through experiential learning methods, role plays and demonstrations.

Financial planning for young investors

Mr. Chaitanya Kittur, Authorized trainer for the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), conducted a workshop on the topic ‘Financial planning for young investors’ on 13th Feb 2016. He explained about investment opportunities in securities market, cautions to be exercised and setting up long term life goals and achieving them by proper financial planning. He also gave an overview on certification courses offered by National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) in India.

Touching lives and heralding a revolution in Microfinance

Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) Regional Director Shri. N. Jayashankar Sharma gave a special lecture on 12th February, 2016. His session threw a light on microfinance initiatives / activities taken by SKDRDP and its contribution to society in helping the poor. He also shared his work experience at SKDRDP and about the coverage of rural poor through various schemes.  He also emphasized on the role played by Self Help Groups (SHGs) in expanding microfinance services to rural areas and the procedures adopted by SKDRDP to form and strengthen SHGs in maintaining the quality of SHGs. He elaborated on SKDRDP Business Correspondent (BC) model under Financial Inclusion initiative. The session was followed by experience sharing of beneficiary women of SHGs of SKDRDP.

How to start a new venture?

Entrepreneurship Development Lecture Series  is an initiative towards stimulating, persuading and enhancing knowledge of students so as to drive their entrepreneurial motives and lead them towards entrepreneurial career rather than being a mere job aspirants. Mr. A.L.Gorebal, Senior Manager at Karnataka State Finance Corporation gave a special lecture on ‘Starting a new Venture’ on 9th February 2016. The session was successful in providing information to the students on various government policies supporting entrepreneurship, government aids, subsidies and project report preparation with added emphasis on assessment criteria

Digital Marketing Training

Digital Marketing Training program was held on 30th January 2016. Mr. Amit Kulkarni from M/s. Future Robo System, Hubli took our students on digital path and made them to understand emerging trends in Digital Marketing and actively involved them in creating their own contents like blogs, tweets, product concepts that can be taken on E-platform. He changed the students’ perspective of Social media and they now view it as a Digital door to unlimited opportunities

Talk on Corporate Restructuring

Renowned Management Professor Dr. Ashok H. Chachadi, of Kousali Institute of Management Studies, Dharwad pointed out in his ‘Corporate Restructuring’ talk on 5th February 2016 that Growing competition and globalization along with tightened fiscal policies are causing both private and public sector organizations to strive for greater efficiency and cost effectiveness. In many cases the desired results cannot be achieved without subjecting the corporate strategy and structure to some transformation. In this context, restructuring is no longer just an option; it is a necessity for survival and growth.
